Morocco GDP growth reaches 4.5 pct in Q3

Rabat (Reuters) - Morocco's economy grew 4.5 percent in the third quarter of 2013 from a year earlier, easing back compared to the first half of this year due to a slowdown in the non-agricultural sector, the state planning agency said on Tuesday.

Growth was 4.8 pct in the first quarter of 2013 and 5.1 pct in the second quarter.

Growth of non-agricultural sectors slowed to 2.4 pct in the third quarter from a year earlier, while agricultural output rose 18.9 pct as the national grain harvest recovered from drought to head for a record 9.7 million tonnes this year.

The Agency expects the economy to grow 5.3 pct in the fourth quarter of 2013 and 4.8 pct for all of 2013, but sees 2014 growth halving to 2.5 pct, citing difficult financing conditions for the government and the international environment.
